Award Winning Wedding Planners

Well this Thursday saw The Essex Wedding Awards announce the winners of the annual Wedding Awards to celebrate the very best in the wedding industry.

I was so honoured that BusyBrides was shortlisted from a bunch of planners to become finalist. Whilst this was an achievement on its’ own, I had no idea that I would be lucky enough to win Wedding Planner of the year. I love what I do and it’s a huge passion and I truly care about every single wedding that I get involved with.

I’m lucky enough to enjoy an amazing bond with my clients and I miss them dearly when their magical day is over! It’s like having your arm cut off. I want to thank all my fabulous clients for working with me over time. I’m so pleased that I have had the opportunity to work with you on your wedding day and allow me to make your day magical and exactly how you dreamed it would be.

So for those of you that don’t know the person behind BusyBrides, I am Sian and here is a little bit about the planner behind the company name.

I grew up in Southend on Sea and left school 16 and went straight into a solicitors. I wanted to buy my own property quite early so I found a job in London in recruitment. Shortly after that I worked in blue chip companies for over 20 years where I had the pleasure to organise a so many events working in Marketing and Events. I have always had a huge passion for organising events and once I was made redundant after a 10½ year stretch at my last company I decided to open my own event management company and then in 2012 decided to specialise in Weddings, so in 2013 BusyBrides was born.

For me this was not just an pleasure to help make a couples day petal perfect, but much more pleasurable to deal with two people and everybody is always happy so this was undoubtedly one of my best decisions as I have loved every moment of this industry.

I grew up in Essex, moved to London, then Caversham in Reading, then Oxford, but back to my roots in Essex. I now spend most of my time in Ashingdon with my partner Chris and his 4 children who range from 11 to 19 who I love dearly. I never had my own children, I have always been a career women so I’m honoured to be able to feel part of a big family now later in life (without the pain of childbirth lol). I dated Chris at the age of 18 for 3 years and we parted company. We were young.... but now we are reunited and we haven't looked back since.

I also have a beautiful dog called Barney Bear (on the left above) who is a Cavachon and means the world to me. He lifts my spirits every day and we are inseparable, apart from when I am working…. My partner also has two female dogs, so they keep Barney on his toes.

I have been married. I got married at the Fennes in Braintree. I was told by one of the staff that in her 22 years of working in the industry that I was the most organised Bride she had ever met. That was almost 10 years ago, and if anything I’m even more particular now than I was back then!

So this is me, the human behind the name of BusyBrides. A normal woman living a normal loving life, running my own business to make your sure your dream wedding day becomes a reality! If you want your wedding day to be in the best hands possible, get in touch for an informal chat and see where it takes us.
